Volunteers

OUR COMMUNITY THRIVES ON THE WORK OF OUR VOLUNTEERS

From class teachers, to team members supporting courses, to social media and admin – we are so grateful to all those who give their time for free so that we can keep our classes available for all, run more events, and spread the compassionate loving message of the Buddha throughout South London and beyond!

Volunteering is a rewarding way to give back to the community, and to deepen our relationships with our friends and teachers in Brixton. Service can help us deepen our practice and go beyond ourselves. We always welcome more helpers, so if you’re interested in volunteering with us, please email Ian or get in touch using the contact details at the bottom of this page.  We are currently looking for volunteers in particular in the following areas, many of which can be done flexibly and from home:

  • Fundraising – making Dana appeals at events, keeping in touch with donors, administration
  •
  • Charity Governance – supporting Council meetings, other governance work
  •
  • Supporting classes and courses – making tea, helping set up, welcoming people
  •
  • Facebook Manager – keeping our Facebook page up-to-date and engaging with communities we’d like to reach
