Through Buddhist Eyes

15th June @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm BST

When Siddhartha Gautama left his life of luxury as a prince and stepped into the night air seeking the end of suffering – a journey that would ultimately lead to his becoming the Buddha – he famously left his family and his roles as husband, father, son and prince. This story can seem confusing to those of us with families or caring or career responsibilities in the modern world. How can we truly seek and search for meaning whilst still caring for the people and places we love?

In this morning of discussion, meditation, and sharing, we will explore our own personal experience of searching for meaning and of practising as Buddhists within the context of our family or professional responsibilities. Ian will share his experience of training for Ordination whilst raising two young children, and together we will explore how following the Buddhist path can enhance our ability to be fully present to our life and responsibilities, whilst finding our own way to explore the mysteries that lie beyond.
