Starting afresh
Join us again for in-person classes on Monday nights.

As we edge into new freedoms of how we work, travel and socialise, with all their attendant excitements and anxieties, we want to stay open and emotionally buoyant through the changes. Meditation helps us deepen our resources in adversity and find joy in everyday interactions, meaning we can start each day afresh so that each moment of our lives can feel like an adventure.

Building on the momentum of the meditation challenge, this new series will support us starting afresh. We’ll be exploring the principles underlying the life changing practices of the mindfulness of breathing, and the cultivation of loving kindness meditations.

Week 3:  Time and time again we seem to contract into ourselves and become defended against other people, the rest of the world or even our own thoughts and feelings. When we feel resentful, hurt, depressed or angry it’s very hard to find the perspective which allows us to reconnect with ourselves and others.

The Metta Bhavana meditation practice of loving kindness is a very practical way to recognise the stories and feelings which are serving to keep us contracted. We want to see through them, and to reconnect with a sense of ease and solidarity with the life in ourselves and others.

Usually we set too high a bar for ourselves, our expectations are too high, and this sabotages our meditations. This week we’ll be exploring how Metta is much more accessible than we think.

Suitable for newcomers and established meditators. The first half of the class will be livestreamed on our YouTube channel and second half of the class, with the cameras off, will have a second shorter meditation and go more deeply into the practices.

Join in person – Spaces are limited, so a free booking is required to reserve your place.

Please note – social distancing and wearing of masks is required to attend this class.
