Dharma Night is a public class for anyone interested in understanding and practicing the simple and profound teachings of Buddhism. With practice, this path is said to lead to a state of mind beyond dissatisfaction and suffering, toward a mind that is light, spacious and filled with joy.

This class is especially suitable for those newer to Buddhism, who might be exploring Dharma teachings for the first time.

Each class covers a fundamental Buddhist theme or teaching and is built around a discussion between two experienced teachers. There will also be a short guided meditation, tea break and a chance for questions.

**Dharma Night: Reason and Emotion in the Spiritual Life**

Our current series journeys through the Buddha’s ‘Noble Eightfold Path’. A set of ancient yet simple teachings which extend back to the Buddha’s first discourse. This highly practical formulation of Buddhist practice asks us to look at eight parts of our experience, which when practiced wholeheartedly form the complete Buddhist path of transformation and transcendence.

We already know many things would be ‘good’ for us, but rarely does this rational understanding move us to action. We are emotional beings who are animated by our emotions. In this week’s class we will be discussing how, to have any chance of making progress in the spiritual life, we need to activate our emotions and try to walk the path of transformation wholeheartedly.

** Please note – social distancing and wearing of masks is required to attend this class. **

Spaces are limited, so a free **booking is required** to reserve your place.
